South Bethany Community Food Drive Accepting Donations Nov. 28, 2022 – Dec. 3, 2022
Date Posted: Friday, November 18th, 2022The South Bethany Community Relations Committee will be accepting donations from Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, through Saturday, December 3, 2022, of non-perishable food in jars, cans, and sealed packets to go to the Cape Henlopen Food Basket. We recommend sauces, soups, cereal, granola bars, snack packs, peanut butter, boxed juices, long-life milk, condiments, dish and/or laundry detergent, and aluminum foil. Drop-off for the items will be only at the South Bethany Police Department, or you may bring them to the Holiday Tree Lighting at South Bethany Town Hall on Saturday, Dec. 3 (the last day of accepting donations) at 5 p.m.

Update on the Sussex County Property Reassessments for South Bethany
Date Posted: Tuesday, November 8th, 2022Here is the latest update on the Sussex County countywide reassessment! Over 90,000 parcels have been visited by assessment data collectors. This represents 47 percent of the overall parcel count. Due to Tyler Technologies staffing issues, the data collection is not currently on track to meet the projected deadline for data collection completion by July 1, 2023. The County is looking into extending the entire project timeline a year, which would change the first billing to be impacted by the new assessments to the fall of 2025. Data mailers of properties that have been visited will start being mailed by late Spring of 2023. Data collectors are focusing on completing property visits in the Bethany area through April while also beginning to collect data in Seaford and the surrounding areas of the western side of Sussex County within the upcoming week.
