Town of South Bethany Board of Adjustment (BOA) Vacancies
Date Posted: Thursday, July 18th, 2024There are three vacancies on the Board of Adjustment due to term expiration. Each 3 year term is set to expire in August 2027. If you are interested and meet the requirement below, please submit a brief resume to the Town by 3 p.m. on July 31, 2024. Requirements: The Board consists of five members who are full-time residents or own property and reside in Town at least 30 days, consecutively or non-consecutively, each year. Board members should be knowledgeable of the problems of urban and rural development and become familiarized with Town Code, specifically Chapter 145, Zoning. All new members will be required to attend a class through the University of Delaware regarding procedures, standards and composition of the Board of Adjustment, paid by the Town of South Bethany. Town Planning Commission Vacancy
Date Posted: Thursday, May 30th, 2024There is a need for one (1) volunteer to serve on the Planning Commission. In the interest of encouraging more citizen participation in town affairs, we are publicizing this vacancy as widely as possible to town property owners. Depending on Council’s decision, the position will be a two (2)-year term, and the Planning Committee meets as needed. Members may also be asked to participate in studies and report on their findings. For more information on the Planning Commission, please click here. Interested candidates should submit a Committee Participation Form to the Town by no later than 12 p.m. noon on Friday, June 21, 2024, so Council may appoint an applicant at its June workshop meeting. According to the Town Charter, this vacancy will be filled by appointment of the Town Council. The Town is accepting letters of interest for the open position. Letters must be received by 12 p.m. noon on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
