Comcast begins work in South Bethany

COMCAST BEGINS WORK IN SOUTH BETHANY Comcast is beginning work in South Bethany that will bring Comcast services to the community. Starting the week of November 1, Comcast will begin underground installation of fiber optic cabling on the following roads: Cleveland Avenue Evergreen Road (South side of road only) Elizabeth Court Elizabeth Way Anchorage Drive Mays Way Seaside Drive Comcast anticipates that services will be available to the Town, contingent on weather, by Spring of 2022. Comcast will contact all homeowners prior to the completion of this project with subscription information on all their internet, phone, and television packages. As the Town is informed of where Comcast will be working next, the Town will post information on the Town’s website home page and will email to all who subscribe to the Town’s informational email news update.

The results of the Planning Commission’s Comprehensive Plan five-year survey that was distributed via email and the Town website are below. ​As noted in the introduction to the survey, ​the results ​of the survey will be used for two purposes: 1) to provide the Planning Commission with information of the Town’s land use and its relevancy, given changing conditions within the Town and surrounding areas, and 2) ​to use by the Planning Commission ​to determine if ​any relevant material may be included ​solely within the scope of the state’s required five-year update of the Town’s adopted Comprehensive Plan. Sussex Co Environmental Services is rebuilding the pump station – York & Carlisle

Sussex County Environmental Services South Coastal Regional Wastewater Facility is rebuilding the pump station at the intersection YORK ROAD AND CARLISLE DRIVE Sussex County Environmental Services will add manholes and conduct bypass pumping in the area. Foxes & Wildlife

Even though South Bethany is a town and we’re near a heavily populated beach, South Bethany is still considered a rural area as we are relatively located near wooded areas and parks (specifically, the Assawoman Wildlife Refuge being the closest). So there are bound to be numerous wildlife in the area. The Town of South Bethany does not handle complaints of — or deal with — wildlife and animal control (i.e., foxes, snakes, raccoons, etc.). To deter such animals, please refer to the information and links provided below.
