Planning Commission Members Needed
The Town is in need of volunteers to serve on the Planning Commission for either a two-year or three-year term. The Planning Commission is tasked with working with the Town’s planning consultant on the development of a new 10-year Comprehensive Plan. Work on the plan will begin in May 2026 and will wrap-up in the fall of 2027. During this time, the Commission will hold several meetings. Additionally, the Planning Commission is charged with approving subdivisions, lot consolidations, and other land use matters. These occur infrequently and hearings are scheduled when needed.

Interested candidates should submit a Committee Participation Form to the Town by no later than 4 p.m. on April 15, 2026, so Council may appoint new Commission members at the May 18th reorganizational meeting.

RFP for MT2 Coastal Analysis
The Town of South Bethany is requesting proposals from qualified coastal engineering and planning firms to conduct an MT2 Coastal Analysis focused on evaluating appropriate bulkhead heights throughout the Town. Attached is the RFP for the project for details. Proposals must be received no later than Tuesday, March 3, 2026, by 12:00 PM. RFP for Comprehensive Plan
The Town of South Bethany is requesting proposals from qualified planning and consulting firms to prepare a Municipal Comprehensive Plan (“Plan”) in accordance with Title 22, Chapter 7 of the Delaware Code. The Town intends to undertake a full rewrite of its existing Plan and is seeking professional planning services for this effort. Proposals must be received no later than Monday, March 2, 2026, by 12:00 PM. Questions can be directed to Town Manager Maureen Hartman at townmanager@southbethany.org.

RFP for York Road Phase II
The Town of South Bethany is requesting proposals from qualified firms to identify a limited range of potential alternatives and beneficial solutions to reduce or eliminate flooding on the secondary roads of York Beach, specifically Carlisle Drive, Plymouth Road, Bristol Road, Victoria Road, and the portion of York Road lying between Plymouth and Victoria. Firms with relevant experience are invited to review the attached RFP and submit a proposal in accordance with the instructions and timeline provided.
