The Community Relations Committee is sponsoring Coffee with Birds, on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Meet at Town Hall for coffee before the group begins the walk toward Canal Road. Join John Janowski on a leisurely half mile walk along Canal Road to enjoy coffee, conversation, and the sights and sounds of early autumn migration. The upper reach of Jefferson Creek is one of South Bethany’s best birding spots, with prime salt marsh habitat where participants may see herons, egrets, ibis, rails, and shorebirds feeding on the ponds. Binoculars and wearing comfy shoes are highly recommended. A spotting scope will be available for close-up views, and participants should bring insect repellent in case it is needed. Coffee and Conversation events are held monthly (unless otherwise noted), with a different featured visitor each month.
