Town of South Bethany Planning Commission Vacancy
Date Posted: Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026The Town is seeking one volunteer to serve on the Planning Commission to complete a two-year term, which expires in May 2028. The Planning Commission is currently working with the Town’s planning consultant on the development of a new 10-year Comprehensive Plan. Work on the plan began in May 2026 and is expected to be completed in spring 2027. During this time, the Commission will hold several meetings, and in-person attendance to all meetings is mandatory. In addition to its role in developing the Comprehensive Plan, the Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing and approving subdivisions, lot consolidations, and other land-use matters. Interested candidates in serving on the Planning Commission are encouraged to consider this opportunity to contribute to the Town’s future planning and development and must submit a participation form to Town Manager Maureen Hartman by 4 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, so Council may appoint a new Commission member at the October 9 Council meeting.
